I've worked on a few castings for Kate Newby and more hands for Brendan Van Hek. For my Terrazzo project, I have been collecting scrap glass from around the building and sorting them into broad colour categories. Last week I spent an awkward hour taking selfies in the mold room as I needed a recent artist portrait in a hurry. I've completed the 'process recipe' for new production pieces for myself called 'Botanical Impressions'. I gave the first 3 to the Canberra Glassworks shop just in time for Floriade.
Part of the Botanical Impressions process: Daffodil and Jonquil being squished!

Collecting warm hues for terrazzo
Botanical Impressions (plum blossom, Banksia & Golden Wattle)
Casts cleaned but not yet cold worked (Kate Newby / CGW Project)
Inside a plaster silica hand mould (I broke one!)

I tidied up the kiln prop trolley - and here is the proof!
Incredible detail from squishing plum blossom into clay
Monoprint in blue (texture from a crystal bowl)
Close-up of glass drizzle. Very much like honey glass pours this pattern
Blue glass scrap bucket
I am working on a Kate Newby piece, at the engraving tool.
And for those of you who scrolled down, some of my awkward selfies!
