For the shortest month, I gave myself the challenge to create at least 1 small wax 'doodle' every day. No theme, no consideration for glass casting suitability, just make.
I have been rather envious of lamp-worker Kit Paulson who's glass-making output is whimsical, delightful but numerous! Casting is a slow process BUT I thought If I can just make a little thing every day and then cast them in one go at the end of the month, maybe I'll feel more productive.
Here are the results and my conclusions
Yes I think I got better
I generally spent between 5 minutes, half an hour or 2 hours a day (though on one afternoon spent over 4 hours while listening to an audiobook)
Lots of animals!
I moved from wax to Monster clay (oil based substance) which I have been meaning to try out properly - I like MC for sculpting (it doesn't stick to your hands which is a-mazing, you can pop it in the microwave for goop and then it hardens as it cools for detail) but the sculpting wax bonus is that you can mould it straight away.
I enjoyed it.
