Our UK trip coincided with this exhibition, hurray! Divided into key areas of the fantasy genre the exhibition was filled with examples of notable texts, objects, audio, and handwritten drafts.
A few of my favourite authors were talking about the genre on screen.
Some of the things I was excited to see were;
The plate that inspired Alan Garner to write 'The Owl Service.
A beautiful collection of Andrew Lang's 'Fairy Books'.
A map drawn by Susanna Clarke for her book Piranesi.
The British Library has been under cyber attack. The website has been down for over a month. When we visted there were no electronic payments. I went back a day later to buy the book of essays.
